Well this week was another mas o menos week. Always are ups
and downs. For the down, once again the dates that we had for baptism fell through
because they didn’t come to church. This family had a date to be baptized this
14th of January. The grandma is the sister of an ex bishop. Her daughter is baptized
in our church but the granddaughter isn’t baptized in any.
The grandma already
is baptized in her church so we were trying to work with that. But her pastor
has been visiting her too so right now she is super confused. This Friday we
had a lesson with her and it was really hard to teach or feel the spirit
because the grandson was running around the room screaming and she was yelling at
him the whole time.
The lesson switched by the end and we felt the spirit super
strong, but she started talking about her old religion and how she loves it and
her pastor and how she doesn’t know if she can leave it and come back into the
world( referring to the ward party because apparently they played reggaeton and
danced inappropriately and wore makeup and pants) She is just really confused
and we are trying to help.
The thing that is good is we found a bunch of new people to
teach so this week we should find a couple new people who want to progress.
We have also been helping A....., the one who needs to
marry, build a wall. And his girlfriend’s heart has softened a bunch towards
us. So we are going to try to push for
them to marry. instead of separate.
The 31st was good. We returned to the house at 8. Then we
tried to sleep but couldn’t because of the noise outside. They held a dance right
next to our house. All night. That kind of sucked.
Our church time got
changed to 10 instead of 8 which is nice.
Um we had a bunch of pan rellenos which is the holiday food
here. It’s just a sandwich with a lot of vegetables, chicken (including the bone)
and drenched in gravy. It’s really good.
But super simple haha.
Hope everything is good at home.
Love Elder Blanchard
